  • before lighting your candle, trim the candle wick to approximately 5mm in length.

  • the first time you use your new candle, burn for at least 2-3 hours, allowing the wax to burn evenly across the surface to the edge of the glass wall. this will ensure you have an even burn in future use.

  • for maximum burn time, look after your wick. always trim candle wicks to approximately 5mm in length. trimming the wick helps your candle to burn evenly, but it will also eliminate smoking and minimise soot forming on the glass. a small amount of soot around the edges of the glass is normal, particularly as your candle reaches the bottom. to remove this, simply wipe with a wet cloth when candle is not lit.

  • ensure you place your candle on a stable, heat resistant surface. never move or touch a burning candle as glass may become hot. keep away from any drafts as this can result in an uneven burn and will reduce the life of your candle.

  • always keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets.

  • never leave a lit candle unsupervised. if you leave the room, please extinguish candle correctly.

  • ensure wick remains upright when burning.

  • for best results, always burn your candle for at least 2 hours at a time, but never burn for more than 4 hours. after 4 hours, extinguish the flame and allow to cool. once the candle has cooled, trim wick to approximately 5mm ready for the next burn. if you wish to move your candle after burning please ensure wax is solid and glass has cooled before picking up.

  • when extinguishing your candle, never blow out the flame. this can damage the candle and will also fill your scented room with the smell of smoke. we recommend using a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame or you can also dip the wick in wax and then set the wick upright and centre again ready for the next burn.

  • always read the safety instructions on the base of the candle before use.

  • stop burning your candle when you have approx 10mm of wax left.
